This software is the culmination of over a year’s worth of dedicated work, but the seed was planted approximately 18 years ago, in 2007. I was working as a consultant, meeting with CIOs about ITDR projects and handling various other IT-related initiatives during that time.

In many of those conversations, the same nagging issue kept surfacing: DR Configuration Drift. It was often posed like this, Keith. Is there any way to automatically update our secondary DR systems to align with the changes we’ve made in our production environment? The answer at the time was no, but someone will come up with it in the future, I’m certain. I waited for someone else to create that solution, but it hadn’t occurred as of 2023 that I was aware.

In 2023, I also appeared on the podcast Mind The Resilience, where we briefly discussed this. Several months later, during some needed downtime, I was pondering the need and spoke to several other people, and took a stab at it. By late 2024, I had created the initial working version, filed for a copyright, which I obtained. Then, with the help of a childhood friend filed for a Patent Pending No. 63/821,553.
